Abstract

This paper focuses on geophysical internal waves with centripetal forces in the f-plane approximation, presents Pollard’s solution, and constructs the exact solution of the system in different layers. On this basis, this paper further develops the structure of Pollard’s solutions that incorporate current terms in the horizontal, meridional, and vertical directions. Findings show that away from the equatorial regions, neither the transverse meridional current nor the vertical current exists, while at the equator, the vertical current vanishes along with the Coriolis parameter f, and the meridional current term is constant.
