Abstract

Ammonia-selective catalytic reduction (NH3-SCR) is a well-established and widely applied technology for the abatement of nitrogen oxides. However, traditional NH3-SCR catalysts still suffer from a limited effective active temperature window, insufficient hydrothermal stability, and relatively high synthesis costs. In this context, Fe-Cu composite Beta zeolites represent an attractive and economically competitive alternative. In the present work, a one-pot, solvent-free method was developed to synthesize Cu- and Fe-containing Beta zeolites using copper-ammonia complexes and Fe salts as metal precursors. The crystalline structure, morphology, and textural properties of the prepared zeolite samples were examined by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, temperature-programmed reduction with H2 and N2 sorption isotherms. The obtained product displayed high catalytic activity in the NH3-SCR reaction together with efficient hydrothermal stability, demonstrating potential for practical applications in nitrogen oxide control.
