Resumen

This scientific work provides an overview of the coupled CFD-FE development process for high-pressure pump turbines implemented in Graz and discusses the results as well as the findings gained from the projects. The focus lies on the CFD portion, while the FE part is described only fundamentally to facilitate an understanding of the correlations. The work begins with an introduction to the relevant project data, followed by basic considerations regarding the main parameters that must be selected at the start of a runner's development. A central aspect is the "Design Instruction – Radial Runner Stress Criteria," which serves as the basis for the fatigue analysis. The main part of the CFD documentation covers relevant simulations for preparing the data for the FE calculations. Finally, the results of the FE analysis of the runner are summarized and the lessons derived therefrom are highlighted to optimize the hydraulic design. The dissertation demonstrates how specific parameters can be influenced to meet customer requirements regarding service life and fatigue assessment.
