Abstract

The present dataset comprises information pertaining to dental anxiety and current stress among patients attending an oral surgery clinic. The data were collected using Corah’s Dental Anxiety Scale (DAS) and the questionnaire on current stress (KAB, ‘Kurzfragebogen zur aktuellen Beanspruchung’). Information pertaining to gender and age was also recorded. The dataset contains the responses of 129 patients from an oral surgery clinic (N = 67 (51.9%) females, mean age 41.8 years) who completed questionnaires between July 2013 and August 2013. The variables include measures of dental anxiety (DAS) and current stress (KAB). As the KAB questionnaire was administered on three occasions during the clinic visit (1) in the waiting room, (2) before and (3) after treatment in the treatment room), it is possible to illustrate how an individual’s experience of stress varies in relation to their dental anxiety.
