Refund Policy

Our policy regarding refunds and cancellations

1. General Policy

By purchasing digital content or commissioning a publication on the Proofbox platform, you expressly agree that the provision of services or access to digital content begins immediately after the transaction is completed.

Due to the nature of defensive publication services, refunds are generally not available once a publication has been processed and made public. Defensive publications become part of the permanent public record and cannot be retracted or removed once published.

By completing any purchase and/or submitting a publication, you, the customer, expressly declare that you agree to the immediate execution of the contract and that you understand this waives your right of withdrawal or claim to a refund.

2. No Refunds After Publication

Once your submission has been automatically reviewed via AI, and automatically approved, and automatically published to our public archive, the service is considered complete and final. No refunds will be provided after publication because:

  • The publication becomes part of the public domain and prior art record;
  • The publication process is irreversible;
  • Significant resources have been invested in review, processing, and archiving the publication automatically; and
  • The legal effect of establishing prior art has been achieved;

3. Refunds Before Publication

Refunds may be considered in the following circumstances before publication occurs:

  • Technical issues prevent us from processing your submission;
  • Your submission is rejected during the review process for not meeting publication standards or compliance;
  • Your submission is identified as an exact duplicate of existing prior art;
  • Payment was processed in error or charged incorrectly;

4. Archive Access Purchases

Purchases of documents from our archive are final upon download. Once you have downloaded a document, no refund will be provided. We recommend carefully reviewing the available preview information before purchasing.

5. Refund Method

If a refund is approved, it will be processed to the original payment method within 5-10 business days. You will receive an email confirmation once the refund has been processed. Please note that depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take additional time for the refund to appear in your account.

6. Dispute Resolution

If you believe you are entitled to a refund and we have denied your request, please contact us at hello@proofbox.co to discuss your specific situation. We will review each case individually and make reasonable efforts to resolve any disputes fairly.

7. Chargebacks

Please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank or credit card company. Chargebacks for services that have been properly delivered may result in account suspension and additional fees. We are committed to resolving any billing issues directly with you.

8. Modification Rights

We reserve the right to modify this refund policy at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services after changes to this policy constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
